Who was the Earl of Norfolk (uk) in year 1845-1855?

I am reasearching my ancesters, and have found out 1 of them worked on the land and stables for the Earl of Norfolk, around 1840s 1850s. But because the family came from Ireland their surname may have been changed to work on the land.

I will be greatful for any research help.|||Actually he was the 'Duke' of Norfolk. There were 2 dukes during that period.

Henry Charles Howard, 13th Duke of Norfolk, KG, PC (12 August 1791 鈥?18 February 1856) was an English politician.

He was appointed to the Privy Council in 1827. Between 1829 and 1832, he was a Member of the House of Commons for the seat of Horsham. From 1832 until 1841 he was member for West Sussex. He also served as Master of the Horse. In 1842, he left the Commons upon succeeding his father, Bernard Howard, 12th Duke of Norfolk, as Duke of Norfolk. In 1848 he was invested as a Knight of the Garter. In 1814 he married Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower, the daughter of George Leveson-Gower, 1st Duke of Sutherland.

Henry Granville Fitzalan-Howard, 14th Duke of Norfolk (7 November 1815 鈥?25 November 1860) was the son of Henry Charles Howard, 13th Duke of Norfolk and Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower. He was returned as a Whig for Arundel in the British House of Commons from 1837 to 1851, and Limerick 1851鈥?852. He married Augusta Mary Minna Catherine Lyons (1821鈥?886), daughter of Sir Edmund Lyons (later 1st Lord Lyons) and Augusta Louisa Rogers on June 19th, 1839. They had several children:

The Norfolks were, and still are, Catholics, which could explain their Irish connection.

See this link:|||There is a Duke of Norfolk, not an earl. In the years you mention, the Duke of Norfolk was Henry Charles Howard, the fifteenth duke, 1791-1856.
