What is the secret with Earl Grey Tea?

Ok, I have been ill for the past two weeks. I've started drinking hot tea as I am constantly being told that. I drink Earl Grey tea with my sickness. What is the secret? It has completely opened up my airways and everything else clogged up. I also feel more relaxed. No not placebo effect or anything. Is it true bergamot was used for medicinal purposes??|||It's the Bergamot.

It's a citrus fruit.

Citrus is good for what you have.|||Bergamot has been used as a carminative, rubefacient, stimulant, and relaxant, and as medicine against colds. bergamot contains a thymol that is a strong antiseptic and is used against fungi, bacteria, and such parasites as hookworm.

So it is not a coincidences that you are feeling better not only from the bergamot but also just from drinking a hot drink. Hot liquids can help relieve nasal congestion, soothe a sore throat and make you feel more relaxed.

Hope you feel 100% very soon.|||Bergamot has been used as a carminative, rubefacient, stimulant, and relaxant, and as medicine against colds. bergamot contains a thymol that is a strong antiseptic and is used against fungi, bacteria, and such parasites as hookworm.

I find that drinking earl grey really perks me up too when I feel the onset of a cold. I think it's something to do with the hot water, aromatic qualities of the bergamot (which, while a citrus fruit, has doubtful contributions in that area) and the fact you're probably drinking it without milk (milk being something to avoid, as lactic acid contributes to phlem).

If you want an earl grey that'll really knock your socks off, might I humbly suggest adagio's Earl Grey Bravo? It's got a very bright, clean flavor with a hint of orange. I have an extra $5 coupon you can have if you like - http://www.adagio.com/free_gift/index.ht鈥?/a>
